Clean and well stocked! Would stay here again!

We really wanted to stay on the very quiet Ebbetts Pass, where my ancestors (Ganns and Harlesses) crossed in a wagon train in the 1850s. Unfortunately, by the time we were ready to book, everything in the area was disappearing, so we violated our usual strict rule about not booking anything without it having a number of good and recent reviews–this one only had two. We were so glad we did! This was one of the cleanest, best stocked, and charmingly decorated cabins we have stayed in. My senior parents, wife, dog and I had a great time, and were continually impressed with the cute decor and remarkably well-stocked cabin. We stay at cabins a lot, and bring a lot of our own gear now, in case something is missing, but nothing was missing here. The space under the house even had extra camp chairs and extra propane for the bbq, as well as various snow sleds (definitely not necessary during our July stay, but a nice touch). Even the wifi worked better than expected. The one negative was when the entire community’s power went down the last night, but even then, the hosts had emergency lanterns spread throughout the place, and they worked well. I was worried about the lack of air conditioning, but at about 5,000 ft elevation, we didn’t need it, even over the 4th of July weekend. The deck looks out over the other cabins on this very quiet street, and it was very peaceful for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The Camp Connell store is walking distance from the cabin, just across the highway, and has a wide variety of options, including coffee and hot food and even entertainment, on the weekend. Ebbett’s Pass is a hidden gem in the Sierra, with access to rivers and lakes and beautiful pine and granite scenery. We would definitely stay here again.
