Mill Woods was developed by John Lemke, a prominent builder from Clayton, California. This “planned unit” development is rare in Arnold, a town where most neighborhoods are custom home subdivisions (meaning no two homes are alike). By contrast, Mill Woods had a single builder with planned architecture for a cohesive look and feel, and the first house closed escrow in 1991. The neighborhood features private streets, a clubhouse, swimming pool, small park, tennis courts and hiking trails that connect to the Arnold Rim Trail. The original units are smaller with an eye to both affordability and easy care maintenance. As more units were developed, larger floor plans followed the market. Therefore, Mill Woods contains everything from compact townhouses to spacious mountain homes on larger lots with commanding canyon views. All units are privately held and the area is fully built out with 166 homes and 32 townhouses. Mill Woods is located in the middle of Arnold with easy access to Highway 4.
CCR Insider: A beautiful sunny ridge with a great range of floor plans and locations. The smaller lots work for those who prefer less maintenance and the close proximity to town services. A good example of something for everyone!
